Shells, Stones and Seaside Souvenirs

The subject is wide. Most of us have at least a few shells that we, or our children, have collected on our holidays, or souvenirs that we bought in those seaside shops that remind us of our wonderful week even if it was an umbrella to protect you from the rainy resort, or the bucket and spade that were used to make sandcastles.

Try to use your own sources – maybe set up a still-life with your shells or stones and direct a lamp for interesting shadows. But if you do use other peoples’ photos, please make sure you get permission to use sources and credit the photographer if you do.

Rod will choose three winners and each winner will receive a KX Pencil Rack storage unit or something else from his website up to the same value.

Please note that as this is a larger and heavier prize than usual, this competition is only open to members who have a UK address.

Rules

1. Pictures must be at least 50% dry colour pencil and mixed media is encouraged.

2. It is preferred that you use your own imagination and reference images.

If you have used a photo reference, other than your own, you must enter the name of the photographer in the space provided and have their express permission to use it.

Copyright to use photo references by other people is the sole responsibility of the artist. The UKCPS is not responsible for ensuring you have the right to use references.

3. Image files should be between 1 and 4MB. Best quality please as they will be used when reproduced in Talking Point.
